The Chavez family is saddened to announce the passing of Agapito Chavez on May 2, 2022.
Agapito was born on September 20, 1938, in Chupicuaro, Michoacan.
He is survived by his wife, Emelia Chavez, and 8 children: Jose, Lilia, Balde, Anabey, Juvenal, Eloy, Juana, and Elpidia.
He will also be remembered by 20 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Agapito will be recalled as a man who loved the Cubs, a cold Budweiser, playing pool, and barbequing.
He will be missed for his steadfast support of his children, sense of humor, and giving nature.
We will miss him deeply but find solace in that he is now reunited with his parents and siblings.
Visitation will be held Friday, May 6, 2022, from 3:00pm until 9:00pm at Sax-Tiedemann Funeral Home, 9568 Belmont Avenue, Franklin Park, IL, 60131, 847.678.1950.
Funeral Mass will take place Saturday, May 7, 2022, 10:00am, at St. Viator Church, 4170 W. Addison Street, Chicago, IL, 60641.
Interment, Maryhill Cemetery 8600 N. Milwaukee Avenue, Niles, IL, 60714.
