Albert E. Gehrke,
74, passed away February 20, 2012, resident of Lake Forest for 25 years and previously in Chicago.
Survived by his loving wife Katherine Ann (Kitty Byrne), special father of Albert Gregory (Liz), Christopher Griffith, Geraldine Ann,
Mary Heather Rusk (Gregg), and Katherine Jane Bogan (Mike); adored grandfather of Albert, Peter, Gabriella, Nicholas, Veronica,
William, Joseph and the late Mary Carroll; brother of Clarence Jr. (Anita) and the late Lawrence E. (late Jean); brother-in-law of Mary Geraldine Foley (Byrne)
and the late James P. Byrne; admired uncle to many nieces and nephews and great-uncle to many. He worked for Fettes, Love & Sieben for 58 years from
apprentice to President. He served as Trustee and Co-Chairman of the Welfare Board for the Plumbers' Local Union 130, U.A., past Treasurer,
Vice President and President of the Plumbing Contractors Association, served as Treasurer, Vice President and President and active member of
the American Society of Sanitary Engineering, past President and Board Director of the North and West Side Master Plumbers' Club and was an integral
member of the Chicago Code Revision Committee. He was also a member of the American Society of Plumbing Engineers and the National Association
of Backflow Prevention. Albert was a member of the Plumbers' Local Union #130 since 1953. Donations can be made to the Benedictine Sisters of Chicago,
Mesothelioma Foundation or Muscular Dystrophy Association. Visitation Friday, 3-9 pm at Colonial-Wojciechowski Funeral Home, 8025 W. Golf Road in Niles,
Lying in State Saturday, Feb 25, from 9:30 am until time of the Mass 10:30 am at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, 991 S. Waukegan Road, Lake Forest, IL.
Interment All Saints Cemetery.
