Allen Ek

Allen A. Ek, born January 31, 1922 to Clara Olberg and Arthur Ek, at rest May 28, 2011. Too young to join the U.S. forces when the war broke out, he went to Canada to enlist. Later, he enlisted in the U.S. Army Air Corps, and flew 35 missions in a B-24 Liberator as a bombardier. Married Elaine Robin in 1948, happily married for 53 years until her passing in 2001. 58 year resident of Schiller Park as a self-employed businessman. Allen lived an adventurous life. He had a partnership in racehorses, stock cars, and a nightclub. He is survived by his son Elliot (Theresa) and grandson Eric (Dawn) and his dog Riley. He will be remembered for his quick wit, sparkling eyes, and his love of doughnuts.
