Ann passed away on July 11, 2020.
She was a loving, caring woman. She had a big heart. She was a homemaker, and stay-at-home mom when her kids were young. She was very proud of her kids, and grandkids. She loved them so much. She made everyone laugh. She loved to be silly with her granddaughters. She shared a love of pickles with her granddaughter, Maryann. She loved how much her granddaughter Melody made her laugh, and gave her the biggest hugs. She was a die-hard Chicago Cubs fan. She loved lilac flowers, and the color purple. She was so happy to see both of her children get married. She always had a very special bond with her children, Jessica, and Wayne.
She is survived by her husband of almost 43 years, Wayne Simons Jr. Her son, Wayne (Christine) Simons, her daughter Jessica (Will) Mackenzie, Her granddaughters, Melody and Maryann Simons, daughters of Wayne and Christine Simons. Her sister, Bernadette O'Malley, and her brother Tom (Eileen) Miller. Her brother-in-law Ed (Joyce) Simons, Her sister-in-law Phyllis Simons. She is also survived by many beloved nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Lucille Miller, her mother and father-in-law, Wayne and Gladys Simons. Her niece, Jennifer Sharp, her nephew, Billy O'Malley, her dear friend, Anne Elder-Whitefoot. Her brother-in-law Hal Simons. Her nephew, Michael Simons.
Visitation for Ann will take place on Thursday, July 16, 2020 from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Sax-Tiedemann Funeral Home 9568 Belmont Ave., Franklin Park. Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, everyone is asked to be patient and abide by the number of visitors allowed inside the funeral home. Everyone is welcome, but we ask that you keep your visit short so that all who wish to pay their respects will be able to do so. Please note that all visitors are required to wear face masks to enter the funeral home.
Family will gather at the funeral home on Friday, July 17, 2020 for service at 11:00 am. Interment will follow at Queen of Heaven Cemetery.
