Baltazar Barrón Gomez passed on January 20, 2022 at the age of 98. He was born on January 3, 1924, in Teoloyucan, Mexico. Baltazar lived in California from 1942 to 1959, a short time in Arizona and the rest of his life in Chicago.
Baltazar was a loving husband of the late María Concepción Barrón Sáenz a devoted Dad to Gerardo, Tony, Carmen, Armando and the late Baltazar Barrón, Jr, and a cherished Abuelito to Connie, Crystal, Gerardito and Sofia.
Baltazar enjoyed visiting family in Mexico and travelling to several beautiful provincial towns and big cities. He loved music of all genres including classical, big band, mariachi, etc. Baltazar loved to dance to swing, ballroom, and danzon.
Baltazar’s work includes helping with the WW2 effort by working in the Bracero program in 1942. In the 1950s, working on the Santa Fe Railroad in California, and finally as a dedicated Machinist for Schwinn Bicycle Company in Chicago for 20 plus years.
A celebration of life gathering and service will be held on Saturday, January 22 from 2pm to 4pm at Sax-Tiedemann Funeral Home.
