Charles R. Pfeifer
Beloved husband of the late Mary Anna.
Loving father of Sharon Below, Patricia Pfeifer, Charles D. (Yvonne) Pfeifer, Thomas (Carol) Pfeifer, and Leonard (Linda) Pfeifer.
He was the devoted grandfather of 15, and a proud great grandfather of 21.
Charles was dear brother of Gregory (the late Marion) Pfeifer, Anthony (Marge) Pfeifer, Bernice Connelly, Virginia McLaughlin, and the late Ruth (Mitch) Czajkowski; and an uncle to many nieces and nephews.
Charles proudly served in the U.S. Navy during WWII, and became a member of the Franklin Park American Legion Post # 974.
He retired after 60 years of dedicated service as a Pipefitter with Local Union # 597.
Charles served his church, St. Maria Goretti Church as a Eucaristic Minister, a member of the Bereavement Team, and the Cursillo.
He will be missed by his family and many friends.
Visitation will be held on Friday, March 16, 2012 from 3:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M.
Family and friends will gather at Sax-Tiedemann Funeral Home & Crematorium 9568 Belmont Ave. Franklin Park on Saturday, March 17, 2012 for prayers at 10:00 A.M. then process to St. Maria Goretti Church for the Mass of Christian Buial at 10:30 A.M.
Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in River Grove.
The Pfeifer family has requested that memorials be given to the Myasthenia Gravis Foundation, 2680 Horizon Drive S.E., Suite 208, Grand Rapids, Mi, 49546-7500 and/ or the Alexian Brothers Hospice Program at 1515 E. Lake Street, Suite 206, Hanover Park, IL 60133.
