Donna L. Blau nee Peterson
A long time resident of Franklin Park passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 24 at the age of 81.

Donna was the beloved wife of the late Ted Blau, and the loving mother of Kristie (Robert) Benedik, Cheri Benesch, and Cindy Blau. She was the cherished step mother of Laura (Jeff) Gruendemann.
Donna was pround of her 14 grandchildren and her 16 great grandchildren.
She is also survived by her brother Richard (Suzanne) Peterson and a dear aunt of many.

Donna was an extemely active citizen of Franklin Park. She belonged to many organizations in and around the Franklin Park area.

She was the Past President of the Franklin Park Women's Club, Past President of the Franklin Park Rotary Club. She was involved with the Franklin Park Library Board as a Board Member; a member of the Northwest Outreach Organization, on the Board of Youth Outreach Services, an advisor to the Franklin Park Health and Human Services Department, a proud member of the League of Women Voters, Community Services Council of Leyden Township, on the board of the Environmental Polution Control Board of Franklin Park, the Citizens United to Restore the Environment (C.U.R.E.), and a very active environmentalist and conservationist.

Donna's creative spirit was seen in her many paintings and artworks. She appreciated many types of music and art forms. She was a great animal lover and alway enjoyed a good joke.
We all will miss her greatly.

Family and friends will gather on Friday, March 30th beginning at 3:00 pm at Sax-Tiedemann Funeral Home & Crematorium, 9568 Belmont Ave., Franklin Park. A Celebration of her life will begin at 7:30 pm that evening.
