Donna Roberts

July 10, 1933 — January 8, 2021

Beloved wife of Edward Joseph Roberts.
Dear daughter of the late Cecilia (Rutkowski) and Alfonse Cammisar.
Loving mother of Laura (Tony) Farinella, Jenifer (Kevin) Walsh, Edward Roberts Jr. (Elsa), Brian Roberts (Lisa), Scott Roberts, and Matthew (Elaina) Roberts.
Cherished grandmother (Grandma Red Cardinal Bird) of Anthony, Andrew, Steven (Monica), Eric, William, Christian, Sebastian, and Douglas.
Proud great grandmother of Kayla.

Donna grew up on the north side of Chicago.  She met many of her life- long friends through her nurses training.  She became a Registered Nurse and worked at Columbus Hospital in Chicago.

Donna met Edward at a St. Patrick’s Day Church dance.  They were married on May 16, 1959.  Over the years their family grew.   Donna was the foundation of her family.  She was a wonderful, thoughtful wife and mother.  She cared deeply for her grandchildren.

Donna volunteered for many organizations.  She was a Girl Scout and Cub Scout leader, when her children were younger.  She was known as the neighborhood mom.  Donna was an active member of her church, St. Maria Goretti in Schiller Park.  She was part of the bereavement committee for several years, was a minister of care, and delivered communion to the home bound.  She taught religious education for 20 years to deaf children in the St. Francis Borgia Deaf Center.  She was a volunteer at the Adult Day Care Center in her younger years.  She was truly a giving and selfless person.  We will miss her dearly.

Inurnment at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
