Donna Mae Rubino

Loving wife of Frank (Bob).
Beloved daughter of the late Donald and the late Margaret McDonald.
Devoted mother to Michael (DeeAnna), Robert (Maureen), and Lisa (Jeff).
Adored grandmother to Ashley (Shawn), Blake (Megan), Julia (Bryce), Brad (Lindsey), Jenna (Joe), Samantha, Katie (Kevin), Joey, and Nick.
Cherished great grandmother to William, Justin, Drake, Bella, Pippa, Luke, Hattie, Graysen, Brody, Gia, Lilly, Hailey, Brookie, and Grayden.

Donna was born in Chicago and moved to Franklin Park when she was entering high school. It was there she met Bobby, who first saw her when he was a hall monitor. They wed when they were twenty years old, and lived their first year of married life in France since Bobby was in the Army. They shared almost 67 years of togetherness.
Donna split her time between being a stay at home mom and supporting Frank/Bob as he ran his own business. He would say she was the reason he was able to be successful. They lived in Franklin Park, Schiller Park, Glenview and Barrington. Along the way Donna made many new friends but always kept the old ones.
Donna was an avid reader and loyal book club member. She started her day by reading “Pickles”....a cartoon in the Chicago Tribune and regularly completing the daily crossword puzzle. Watching Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune were two of her daily pleasures. Donna was known to crochet a blanket in record time. She made blankets for each of her grandchildren, great grandchildren and even future great grandchildren. Donna was Irish yet still managed to make the best homemade spaghetti sauce. She was also a competitive mah jong and bridge player. She fondly remembered taking each of her nine grandchildren on a special trip for their 8th grade graduation.
Donna was smart, sassy, sweet, social and sincere.
Each of us is a bit better off having known her.
