Dorothy McGovern

On September 28 Dorothy (Daly) McGovern passed away in Melrose Park, IL at the age of 96. She was preceded in death by her husband George, sons Michael (Helen) and Thomas (Carole) and sister Winifred. She is survived by her sons Daniel (Jane) and Robert (Linda) and Many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Dorothy was a lifelong Chicago resident. She spent many years working for Time Magazine and running local taverns with her family. She had strong family ties and was adored by all who met her. She was an avid reader who also spent many hours challenging herself with the latest crossword puzzle. Services will be held at Sax-Tiedemann Funeral Home & Crematorium in Franklin Park beginning with Visitation October 3, from 4-8 pm, followed by Prayer Service on Friday, October 4, at 10:30am. Inurnment at Maryhill Cemetery. In Lieu of flowers Dorothy has requested that donations be made to Make A Wish in her name.
