Frank (Francis) Gregory Kopis, age 71, passed away peacefully on April 26th, 2015.
Frank was born in Chicago, and raised in Elmwood Park, IL. He was a great inventor and master machinist. He helped pioneer the machining industry, in which, a lot of the machines that he helped build are still in use today. He had a few inventions to his name. His intelligence was amazing to many. Frank was a pool champion, and he was also dubbed the 'Master Magician.' He loved entertaining family, friends, and neighbors with his magic acts. Frank was lifelong jokester. He had a very engaging and entertaining personality. Even when he was sick, he still cracked jokes to make you smile.
Frank is the loving brother of Floyd (JoAnn) Kopis, Johanna (Vincent) Lombardo. Frank was a loving Uncle to Anthony, Vicky, Jeffrey (Denise), Gregory (Jennifer), Michael, Dawn, Wendy (Steve), and Steven. He was also a loving Great Uncle. Frank also had many cherished friends. He was loved dearly and will be greatly missed.
Family and friends will gather at Sax-Tiedemann Funeral Home & Crematorium 9568 Belmont Ave. Franklin Park on Thursday, April 30, 2015 from Noon until time of prayer at 1:00 pm. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in River Grove.
