Frank Lucchese

March 10, 1928 — February 24, 2021

Beloved husband to Beverly (Titera).
Loving father to Kathlyn (Ed) Strus, Frank Joseph II (Cindy), Joseph, and Mary Ann (John) Lofton.
Cherished grandfather of Elizabeth, Laura, Johnny, David, and Frank Joseph III.
Born in Rochester, NY on March 10, 1928, to the late Franceso and Rose (Barbalace) Lucchese.  He was a loving brother to the late Al (Connie), Joseph (Catherine), Anthony (Margaret), Carmella (Michael) Sulla, and Victoria (James) Dawson.  He was an adored uncle to many nieces and nephews.
At the age of 16, Frank enrolled in barber college.  He owned his own barber shop in River Grove for 50 years.  He loved to cut hair and it was not an easy decision to retire the scissors and razors at the young age of 80.  He was always known by his customers as Frank the Barber.  It was a rare occasion for him not to be recognized when he was out and about in town by one of his many customers.
He proudly served in the US Army.  While serving in Korea, he was able to open his own barber shop.
While on a fishing trip with his family in Northern Wisconsin he met Beverly, who worked at the resort where they were staying.  On one of Beverly's days off she was relaxing on the beach and caught Frank's eye....and the rest is history. Frank and Beverly then went on to have a very happy and successful marriage of almost 65 years.
A Few of Frank 's Favorite Things:
*a glass of red wine
*a cold beer in the summer
*going to water aerobics at Gottlieb Hospital and visiting his friends in class
*going to the Franklin Park Library
*making a toast to celebrate the holidays with his family
He was often referred to as adorable and he was loved by everyone who knew him.
He will be missed by everyone-he is the man, the myth and the legend.
