Gary Downs

Gary R. Downs, 70, of River Grove, Illinois, passed away peacefully on September 13, 2021, surrounded by his loved ones.
Gary grew up in River Grove, a town he loved an never left.
He proudly served on the Rhodes School Board from 1991 to 2003.
Gary worked in the Machine Tool Industry for the majority of his career.
In 2019 he retired from SMW Autoblok in Wheeling where he worked for 24 years, and held the position of President.
He enjoyed spending time with his family and traveling and will be missed and always remembered by his family and many friends.

Gary is survived by his wife, Marge, sons, Kyle and Ryan (Ivana), sister, Patricia, and brothers, Brian (Gail) and Shawn (Mary).

Gary requested a Celebration of Life be held in his honor as opposed to traditional funeral services.
Arrangements to be made at a later date.
