Gayle Nega

Gayle R. Nega (nee Donaldson), loving wife of 61 years of the late William A. Nega, passed
peacefully on Wednesday, November 8, at the age of 90, at Rainbow Hospice Ark at
Resurrection Hospital, Chicago. The family wishes to extend their thanks to the staff at
Rainbow Ark for the care and compassion shown to their mom.

Gayle entered the workforce after all her children were in school and spent many years as an
Office Manager and accounting whiz until she was 75 years old at many companies in the
Chicagoland area.

Loving mother and mother-in-law of the late William A., Jr. (Gemma), Robert, Joan (Tim) and
Kathy (Phil). Fun loving grandmother of Carrie, Joe (Lauren), Nick (Cass), Laura (the late
Weber), William III (Sabrielle), Kelly (the late Alex), Tim (Karen), Megan (Bryan), John
(Jeannette), Justin, Jacob (Marlesa), and Jared (Tierra). Awesome great-grandmother to
Mackenzie, Zachary, Charlotte, Gertie, Harper, Alyssa, Nora, Kai, Madison, Mason, and Morgan,
and great grandchild #12 due in March. Fond Aunt of many nieces and nephews.

Gayle was known as “the perfect mom” by her children, and the most gracious woman by her
friends and family. Though beset by dementia in her later years, she was still entertaining to
and entertained by her family. Her home was always a welcoming place for everyone. A fan of
the Chicago Sun Times she read the news every morning until her entry to hospice.
A lover of vacations, she visited many areas of the United States with her husband and family,
along with travelling several times to Europe.

Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. – noon on Monday, November 13 at Sax-Tiedemann
Funeral Home, 9568 Belmont Avenue, Franklin Park followed by Service at noon, and interment
immediately afterwards at Memory Gardens Cemetery, 2501 E. Euclid Avenue, Arlington
Heights. Gayle will be missed by everyone, and her family encourages you to please stop by on
Monday and share your memories and stories.
