Fond grandfather of Timothy (Regina) Kater, Jonathan (Courtney) Linnemeyer, Kenneth (Kelli) Kater, Jillian (Nicholas) Denny, Melissa (Daniel) Ellis, Rebecca (Steven) Marquardt, Bradley Linnemeyer and Amanda Meddaugh.
Adoring great-grandfather of Cadence Ellis, Kyle Kater, Harrison Lynnemeyer and Willow Denny.
Dear brother of the late William (the late Shirley) Kater.
Harry served in the United States Marine Corps during World War II from July, 1942 until Sepetmber, 1945. He worked at Thompson Wire for 42 years and enjoyed gardening and camping. Harry was a proud member of the Franklin Park American Legion, Post 974, the Bensenville VFW, Post 2149 and the Oak Creek American Legion, Post 0434 for 69 years.
Family and friends will gather for Visitation at Sax-Tiedemann Funeral Home & Crematorium 9568 Belmont Ave, Franklin Park, on Wednesday, October 4, from 3:00 PM until 8:00 PM. On Thursday, October 5, Mr. Kater will be Lying In State at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 2624 Oak Street, River Grove, from 10:00 AM until time of Funeral Service at 11:00 AM. Interment Eden Cemetery.
