James C. Puchner Sr. (92) of Franklin Park, IL passed away peacefully on July 21, 2021. Jim was born in Punxsutawney, PA on September 18, 1928. He served in the U.S. Army in 1946/47 and then attended Marquette University.
He used his aptitude for numbers while working for Walgreen's and eventually started his own successful accounting firm in Franklin Park where he worked until his retirement. Jim was an active member of St. Gertrude's Catholic Church in Franklin Park and then a founding parishioner of St. Maria Goretti Catholic Church in Schiller Park.
Jim is survived by his loving wife Eleanor (Mitzi) Lind; son, James C. Puchner Jr. (Tracy Penna), daughter Mary (Donald) Balk, daughter Peggy (Bruce Zurek) Abernathy; grandchildren, Abby Puchner, Michael Puchner, Ashley (Kevin) Wolski, Kevin (Annie) Balk, Aubrey (Aaron) Westafer, and Dayla (Brandon Robinson) Abernathy; and his five great-grandchildren, Hendrix, Payton, Julia, Suniya, and Sage.
James is preceded in death by his first wife Virginia (Allen) Puchner; and his parents, Joseph and Helen Puchner of Wauwatosa, WI and his brother Tom Puchner and sisters Lorraine Puchner and Marge Treis.
