John McKillop

On Monday November 8th, 2021 John A. McKillop went to be with his Lord and Savior peacefully at his home in Franklin Park, IL with his devoted wife of 73 years Beryl D. McKillop née (Morrison) at his side.

John, born in Oak Park, IL was the loving father of 3: Valerie James née (McKillop), John Stuart McKillop (Wendy), and Heather Scharbach née (McKillop) (Ted); and Grandfather of 6: Stacy Anne Ramirez (Anibal), Jerome James (Kelly), Andrew Scharbach (deceased), Allison Brooke Scharbach, Alexi Belin Dockstader (Matthew), Abigail Brianna Scharbach, and 10 Great Grandchildren.

John was a long time member of Palos Hills Assembly, the American Legion Post 974 where he held several offices including treasurer. Ten days after John's graduation from high school he was drafted in the Army and was shipped to the Asiatic South Pacific Theatre where he served on Tinian Island during WWII and received the many Good Conduct medals.

John lived a long and happy life serving his Lord and enjoying his children and grandchildren.
