Loving wife of Paul Volltrauer.

Beloved daughter of the late Raymond & Late Katherine Brausam.

Devoted mother to Scott (Amy) Volltrauer & Kristie (Robert) Padjen.

Cherished grandmother to Edward (Addie) Ligmanowski, Shannon (Jonathan) Lord, Josh (Anna) Volltrauer, Tyler and Shayna Padjen.

Doting great-grandmother to Nickolas, Zoey, Alana, Amara, Cienna & Gladly.

Dear sister of William Brausam.

Fond aunt of Joseph (Debra) and Timothy Brausam.

Those who have known Karan say she was an example of volunteer spirit for others. She dedicated her life to helping others and theirs dogs. Karan was a lifetime member of Lincolnwood Training Club where over the years she held numerous board positions, including Director of Training. For over 50 years, Karan taught dog obedience training classes for the Franklin Park Park District. She was also a breeder of German Shepherds for over 30 years. Karan's love for animals transcended beyond dogs. She spent almost 20 years as a Brookfield Zoo docent.
