Karen E. Karner

Karen E. Karner, 78, passed away on 9/4/2023 in Bensenville, IL. She was born on
12/19/44 in Melrose Park, IL to Robert E. Karner and Shirley M. Karner. As a second-
generation owner and operator, Karen worked as president of operations at Suburban
Welding and Steel in Franklin Park until her retirement.

Karen was known for her love of animals and was loved by many for her kindness and
charity. She loved sitting outside on her patio surrounded by flowers and enjoying her
morning coffee. You could always find her with her German Shepard, Kaiser.

Karen is survived by her children, Kristine (Brock) Springer and Brian (Sara) Kasmer,
grandchildren, Ashley (Chris) Wagner, Brittany (Kevin) Taylor, John T. (Casey)
Komperda, Cade Kasmer, and Callan Kasmer, and great grandchildren Braelynn
Taylor, Preston Carlson, Avery Komperda, William Komperda, and August Komperda.

A memorial service will not be held per Karen’s wishes. In lieu of flowers, donations may
be made to ASPCA to honor her love of dogs.
