Karen Miner

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved mother, wife, sister, aunt and friend, Karen Ann Miner, who was taken from us on September 18, 2024, at the age of 78.
Karen is survived by her husband of 55 years Charles Hardin Miner, loving son Jeffrey Edward Miner and his wife Karina Recinos Miner.
She will also be greatly missed by her very close sisters Suzan Helen Mahal and Elaine Appler.
She is preceded in death by her brother John Mahal, her mother Helen Sikon Mahal Gebhardt, father Edward Mahal and stepfather Edward Gebhardt.

Karen spent her childhood in Chicago, most of her married life in Franklin Park and moved to Lombard in 2009.
She was a strong, sweet and funny person who loved poetry, art, travel and shopping, especially for jewelry.
No matter how difficult her health issues were for her, she always had a smile on her face and loved to go out with her friends.

Her memorial service will take place on October 26, 2024, at Saint Priscilla’s Church located at 6949 W. Addison in Chicago, at 11 A.M.
Saint Priscilla held a special place in Karen’s heart, as it was where many special life events occurred, such as her and Charles’ wedding.
Karen will be laid to rest at Saint Joseph’s cemetery in River Grove.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to the John Ritter Foundation (johnritterfoundation.org) which works to fund research, provide education, and raise awareness of thoracic aortic aneurysm and dissection.
In addition, donations may be made to Paws Chicago (pawschicago.org), in honor of her love for animals, especially cats.
