Kenneth Russell Anderson, age 85, went home to be with our Lord Jesus Christ on Good Friday, April 22, 2011 while surrounded by loved ones. He was born October 16, 1925, son of the late George and Celia Anderson. He was raised in Kingsford, Mi with his eight siblings, Marian, Leslie, Norma, Phyllis, Roger, Bobby, who passed before him, and survived by Dorothy and Johnny. At the age of 18, Ken joined the U.S. Military, training in Alabama, and serving overseas. Upon his honorable discharge from the U.S. Army, Ken returned home where he met and courted the love of his life and future wife Clarice Krause. Ken and Clarice were married November 26, 1949. After residing a short time in Niagara, WI. they moved to Illinois, making their home in Melrose Park, and raising their four children Ken was very active in service to the American Legion Post 974, serving as Officer and Commander, Bar Manager, House Committee, BINGO Committee and Board of Directors. He was honored for his faithful service with his Legion Lifetime Membership. He resigned in 2011 due to his health. In 2002, Ken and Clarice sold their home, and settled in at the Concord Retirement center. He continued his active service in the residents club, the resale shop, calling BINGO, and assisting residents when in need. Ken began his spiritual journey 12 years ago attending Messiah Baptist church. About three years ago he began attending the Moody Student Church at Concord. Here he developed a deep appreciation and closeness to the Lord, and to the students who ministered there. Our loving Husband, Father, Grandfather, and Great Grandfather most loved spending time with family and appreciated each of us in his own way. His large loving family includes his Beloved wife, Clarice (Sissy) Anderson, His children Robin Depolo, M'Lis Beckham, Kenneth Anderson Jr., Marilyn Dustin (passed), Cindy Savvas, Gus Savvas, Debbie Anderson Davis, and Dale Davis. Grandchildren , Paula (Tim) Cohen, Kendall, Alex, and James Cohen, Joseph Depolo, Julien, Gino, and Raina DePolo, Tara (Mark) Anderson, Brennan, Camden, and Aliyah Anderson, Jesse Romanow, Gus Savvas Jr, Adam Savvas, Christo Kenneth Savvas and Echo Savvas, Joshua Kenneth Anderson, and Will Beckham. He loved and was dearly loved by his brothers, sisters, in-laws, numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews. Memorials can be made in Kenneth's name to the American Cancer Society in hopes for a cure
