Beloved husband of Linda Helen nee Zehnder. He and his wife, Linda Helen were married on August 12, 1961 in Reno, Nevada.
Loving father of Daniel (Pauline) Bishop and Kendal (Elizabeth) Bishop, the late Randal (Toni) Bishop, and the late Crystal Lee (Lorenzo) Silvestre.
Cherished grandfather of Jace Silvestre, Max Silvestre, Rebecca Bishop, David (Brooke) Bishop, Richard (Kaylee) Bishop, Dylan (Kyla) Bishop, Linda Margaret Bishop, Damien Bishop, Brandon Bishop, and Toni Marie Bishop.
Proud great grandfather of Katherine, Eloise and Kinsley.
Dear brother of the late LaVonne Rhoda and the late Gloria Gail Haley. Dear uncle and great uncle of many.
Son of the late Opal Faye nee Davis and Lowell LeRoy Bishop.
Lawrence was born in Renville County, Minnesota; Graduated from Cosmos High School in Minnesota. In 1959, Lawrence joined the United States Navy and became a Journeyman / Machinist Tool and Die maker while being stationed on the USS Markab-AR23 in Alameda, California. He was honorably discharged in 1963.
Lawrence was active in Scouting for twenty years being a Cub Scout and Boy Scout Leader. He was also active with the American Legion for many years.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, April 21, 2024 at 1:00 pm at the Franklin Park American Legion Post 974, 9757 Pacific Ave., Franklin Park, IL.
