Lisa Lynn Post
February 28, 1964 - April 13, 2024

Saturday, April 13, 2024, Our Lord, in His infinite Love, Mercy and Wisdom, called out of this valley of sorrow, to His side in Heaven, the soul of my dear Wife, Lisa.

Lisa was born a poor, miserable sinner, as we confess every Sunday Lord’s Day in the Divine Service, in Laona, Wisconsin on February 28, 1964, to Raleigh Robert Calhoun and Shirley Dale Calhoun. Her sin was washed away in Holy Baptism as she was Baptized into eternal life at her home on Airport Lane in Laona by Pastor Loren Trapp, St. John Lutheran Church, Laona. Lisa was blessed by the Lord to attend Church to hear the eternal life-giving Word of God, to have her sin forgiven and sent away in Holy Absolution and her faith strengthened and her sin forgiven in the Lord’s Holy Supper.

Lisa was the Valedictorian of her high school class of 1982. She was joyfully proud of her Scotch heritage. Lisa was a Daughter of the American Revolution, scholarship winner, and also eligible to be a Daughter of the Confederacy by virtue of her southern, Kentucky ancestry.

Lisa was an accomplished athlete like her dad. She had a quiet, persistent determination and a strong work ethic and sense of responsibility. She was fun loving, a prankster, adventurous with a wide-eyed wonder, selfless. Lisa was sweet, a true Lady, and a ready defender of the Faith and her Lord. Lisa loved biographies and history, and liked to bake, cook, bike, hike and give gifts to people. She sang Christian hymns in Church beautifully and with joy. Our neighbors and local merchants knew well and appreciated my Lisa.

Lisa earned an Associate of Applied Science in Computer Science from MATC, and a Baccalaureate in Management & Communications from Concordia University of Wisconsin. Lisa’s last position was as a VP in Information Technology at HSBC. She cherished those she managed, worked with, and worked under.

Lisa and her Husband started dating at 17, she a Junior and he a Senior, 43 years ago, in Spring of 1981. They were married March 23, 1985, at Luther Memorial, Shorewood, WI, by Pastor Theodore Hessel, and celebrated their 39th Anniversary this year.

Lisa is survived by her husband, the Reverend Pastor Mark David Post, their son, the Reverend Pastor Alexander Charles Post, his Wife, Esther, and their seven children; as well as their daughter, Andria Faye Green and Husband, Paul, their son, and their baby in Heaven; mother-in-law Dolores, brother & sister-in-law Pete and Michele Pettit, niece, Allison; and Lisa’s five siblings.

Finally, importantly: Lisa loved her brothers and sisters at our Church, and those from Churches in which I served and where she was a member or worshipped in the past. I am so very thankful for the love that you all have shown to my Lisa.

Lisa’s funeral was Tuesday, April 16, 2024. Pastor Ralph Tauz was the Presiding Minister, with Kantors Mr. Mark Trapp and Mrs. Ruth Otten. Pastor Steven Cornwell did the committal. Lisa and her Husband’s graves are together at Chapel Hill Gardens West, Oakbrook Terrace, IL.

I miss my Bride Lisa so much, but with me now rejoice in this: By Grace through Faith in Jesus Christ, Lisa is a child of God. In her Baptism, Lisa was given Jesus’ victory over sin, death, hell, and Satan. Christ has now conquered her cancer and given Lisa a Blessed rest in Heaven, where she waits the Day of Resurrection.

Christ is risen! He is risen indeed. And so too shall my Lisa.
