Martin “Marty” J. Bassi

Age 53. A lifelong resident of River Grove, Il, passed away suddenly on Sunday, March 10, 2024.  He was born on March 16, 1970, to Orlando and Carol Bassi.

Marty is a 1988 graduate of East Leyden High School. After high school he earned a Certificate in Travel from Triton College, and he worked in the Travel Industry for over twenty years. While working for Rail Europe, Marty was involved in all aspects of booking groups of people on rail travel. During his tenure there he advanced to a Senior Rail Assistance Desk position where he assisted in house travel consultants in their travel bookings, he loved helping clients with their vacation travels.

Marty not only worked in the travel industry but also enjoyed traveling. He traveled countless times to Europe and other countries in the world. He especially enjoyed his travel to Machu Picchu, Peru.

Marty is survived by his siblings, Melinda (James) Renella, Melissa Bassi, Michael (Cathy) Bassi and his niece Leah Bassi. Predeceased in death by Orlando Bassi (father), Carol (Kovach) Bassi (mother) and Marc Bassi (brother).

Marty will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

Family and friends will gather at Sax-Tiedeman Funeral Home, 9568 Belmont Ave., Franklin Park on Saturday, MArch 30, 2024 from 9:00am until time of service 11:00 am.
Interment will follow at Elmwood Cemetery, River Grove, Illinois.
