Mary Murphy

Mary Lynne Murphy, nee Kolb, 89 of Franklin Park beloved wife of the late Bertice Murphy and the late Thomas Emerson passed away peacefully at home on July 15, 2016.
Mary was born on July 2, 1927 in Buffalo, NY, to Albert Louis Kolb and Elizabeth Estelle Measaw.
Mary is survived by three daughters Patricia Emerson, Joan (Kenneth) Morys, and Margaret Simpson;
three grandchildren, Daniel (Nina) Morys, Julie (Scott) Tipton, and Andrew (Amy) Morys; four great grandchildren Nicole Morys, Danica Morys, William Tipton, and Christopher Tipton; her sister, Phyllis Carnutt and niece Amanda (Mark) Moore.
She is preceeded in death by her parents and sister, Eleanor George.
A citizen of New Orleans for thirty-two years. Mary loved the annual Mardi Gras celebration where she was crowned Queen of the Neophermenos Krewe (1981). She enjoyed playing cards and dice and spending time with her family.
Family and friends will gather at Sax-Tiedemann Funeral Home & Crematorium 9568 Belmont Ave., Franklin Park on Thursday, October 20, 2016 from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm. A Celebration of Mary's life will begin at 7:00 pm at the funeral home.
