The following obituary was created by Maude herself while making her preneed arrangements in 2016, it is copied exactly as she wrote it ...
Dingels, Maude E., beloved widow of the late Nicholas S. Dingels. Passed away on Sunday, June 9, 2024, at 91 years old. I leave behind a nephew, Nicholas W. Dingels and wife the late Judith which have always been our son and daughter ~ their children our grandchildren. Also 4 generations of nieces and nephews living in many different states ~ I love them all.
I worked piece work for 40 years at Advance Transformer Co., while hubby worked at U.S.P.O. Then in our spare time we helped the needy. We were also Mr. & Mrs. Santa Clause for many years taking gift and food all year round. We even won Jefferson Award (from Marshall Field) for all the charity work we did to help others.
We were both members of the American Legion Post 974 for many years.
I always said, I had the best husband ever ~ a good life, good kids, good family, good friends, and good memories, which will remain with me through all eternity.
Grieve a little, cry a little, that's ok.
Just remember, "we will be together again one day".
Now it's time to party ~ my LIFE to celebrate. Make a toast to us as Nick opens the pearly gates.
