Nancy Bjornberg

Nancy Ann Bjornberg, nee Sarvas, lifelong resident of River Grove, passed away Wednesday, February 6, 2019.
Loving wife of the late Cary "Swede" Bjornberg.
Exceptional mother of Krista (Brian), Tricia, Daniel, the late Michael, and a late infant daughter.
Beloved "Bama" of Christopher, Amber, Brandon, Breanna, Matthew, Caryann, Jake, Brayden, Katie, and the late Michael.
Great grandma of Kailee Grace.
Lifelong friend of Linda, and dear friend to many others.
Remembered with love by Kari and Erica.
Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, John and Betty, and brothers, John and Walter.

Nancy earned her Associates Degree in Nursing and worked as a Labor and Delivery Nurse prior to retiring in 1997. Her former co-workers remember her fondly as an excellent nurse with a wonderful sense of humor.

Nancy developed a life long love of reading from a young age. She could often be found with a book in her hand.

She enjoyed taking trips and all of the adventures and mis-adventures they would bring. If given the opportunity to go anywhere, Nancy would choose a place near the water. Ocean or lake, it made no difference, she loved to sit and look out at the water.

Other favorites of Nancy's include: cake with buttercream frosting, buttered popcorn, Coke (heavy on the ice), hiking, watching figure skating on TV, fireworks (the louder the better), bowling, and keeping in touch with friends on Facebook.

Nancy was a strong, selfless woman who gave much and asked for very little in return. She was a gift to all who knew her, and will be missed dearly by those whose lives she graced.

Visitation for Nancy will take place on Sunday, February 10, 2019 from 3:00 pm to 9:00 pm at Sax-Tiedemann Funeral Home, 9568 Belmont Ave., Franklin Park.

Family and friends will gather at the funeral home on Monday, February 11, from 10:00 am until time of Service at 11:00 am.

Interment Elmwood Cemetery.
