Shirlee Mae Egan

Shirlee Mae Egan was born September 10, 1929, to the late Dorothy and Casper Stahlhofen, and passed away peacefully on June 14, 2023. She grew up in Chicago where she attended Kelvyn Park High School.  She was married to the love of her life, the late Joseph Egan (2016), for 67 years. 

Loving Mother of 6 children: the late Michael Egan (2021), Nancy Franklin (Larry), Tammy (Art) Brand, Mary (Chuck) Gekas, Mark (Jean) Egan, and Thomas (Rebecca) Egan. 

Cherished grandmother to 14 grandchildren: Craig (Laura), Carrie (Mark), Christine (Jim), Laura (Jon), Jessica (Dan), Ryan (Samantha), Jennifer (Anthony), Sean (Amanda), Julia, Annie, Hunter, Marisa, Isabella, and Alexa. 

A special Great-grandmother to 16 great-grandchildren: Daniel, Christian, Ben, Jordan, Eli, Nikolai, Lily, Kira, Annabelle, Rosalie, Charlie, Nora, Josh, Maddy, Faith, and Eleanor. 

Shirlee was a social butterfly who loved being around people.  Before she became ill, she loved playing bingo at the moose, playing cards with dear friends and spending time at the Franklin Park Senior Center much of the time.  She was loved by so many who saw her warmth and kindness as a gift.  She will be missed by so many.
