Sue Hardman

October 25, 1940 — March 6, 2011

Sue Hardman (nee Payne) of Melrose Park, IL passed away peacefully at her home on March 6 after a year long battle with lung cancer.

She is survived by her loving husband, Jack, of 25 years, son Barry (Jennifer) Schimmel, daughters Kim Schimmel, and Linda (Mike) Hardman, step daughter Michelle Henk, nine grandchildren, two great grandchildren, three sisters Betty Hill, Penny (Carroll) White, Laura Kramer, and brother Bill Payne. She was preceded in death by parents Russel (step mother Rosie) and Donna Payne and step son Michael Hardman. Her sparkling blue eyes, quick wit and strong will is how she will be remembered.

Sue thoroughly enjoyed going to the casino with her husband Jack. Sue was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. She was very caring and always there for people in need with open arms. To know her is to love her. She will be deeply missed.

Sue believed in the words of "Footprints in the Sand". She knew that during her times of trial and suffering "when there was only one set of footprints...that was when God carried her".

Special "thanks and gratitude" to Edna Nelson, Sue's best friend of forty-three years, for being a terrific caregiver during Sue's last months.
