Rev. Thomas M. Powers

Born July 13, 1923 in Chicago, Il.
Devoted son of the late Matt and Marion Powers.
Loving brother of Rev. John Powers and Mary (Don) Blindauer.
Cherished uncle of Karen (Ken) Stasiek, Daniel (Sheila) Blindauer, Janet Reilly, Cindy (Ed) Hendricks, Benette (Dave) Pauluzzi, and Rene' (Todd) Leong.
Dear Grand uncle and great grand uncle to many.
Father Powers' first parish was St. Margaret Mary of Scottland in 1949, then to St. Henry in 1951, in 1961 he served Santa Maria Del Populo. He then served at Our Lady of Mercy in 1962. St. Norbert in 1968, and was then placed at St. Cyprian Church as the Pastor in 1977. Fr. Tom retired form St. Cyprian Church as Pastor Emeritus in 1999. He the went to St. Joseph parish from 1999 until 2008, and fully retired to St. Benedict Retirement Home in 2008.
Fr. Powers touched the lives of many people of faith.
Visitation for Rev. Powers will be held at St. Cyprian Church on Thursday from 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at St. Cyprian Church, 2601 N. Clinton St. River Grove, IL 60171. (708) 453-4800.
Family and friends will gather at the church on Friday, June 29,.2012, for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m.. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.
