Tom Healy

September 13, 1941 — April 8, 2017

Tom Healy was named the 1999 United States Olympic Development Coach of the Year in recognition of decades of training speed skaters from beginners through National and Olympic teams.
He was the founder of the one-of-a-kind Franklin Park Special Needs Skating Competition and Chief Referee and Ice Maintainence Cheif for national and international competitions.
Tom was a Vietnam Veteran and had worked for Eastern Airlines for over twenty five years. Some of Tom's favorite memories included banging the gavel to close the New York Stock Exchange and being photographed with his "Whopper Crappie" for the Ely Echo newspaper of Ely, Minnesota.
Tom is survived by his wife, Anita; his son Michael (Jinny); and his grandsons Michael, Jr., and Austin.
In lieu of flowers the family has requested gifts to be made to Paralyzed Veterans of America, 7 Mill Brook Rd., PO Box 9523, Wilton, NH, 03086-9523.
Cremation was private.
