Wladyslaw Szymanek

Wladyslaw Szymanek also known as Wally, was born in Szczawienko, which is situated in Walbrzych Dolny Slask (Lower Selisia), Poland on April 16, 1951, to Tadeusz and Janina Szymanek.

After graduating from technical school, Wladyslaw joined the Polish Army.  Upon completion of military service, he began his public service career by becoming a bus driver for the regional public transportation authority and married his wife, Barbara Szymanek.

In 1987, Wladyslaw together with his wife and two sons, Robert and Thomas, immigrated to Chicago, Illinois.  While living in cities such as Norridge, Chicago, and Franklin Park. Wladyslaw worked at C&J Metal Company as a machine setup person.  Wladyslaw retired from C&J as a production manager in 2019.

Wladyslaw enjoyed writing poetry, taking long walks through the forest, mushroom picking, and carpentry. 

Wladyslaw's health began to diminish in November 2022 and on December 19, 2022, he was taken to heaven.

A memorial service in honor of Wladyslaw will take place on Saturday, January 7, 2023, at 10 am at St. Gertrude Catholic Church located at 9613 Schiller Blvd, Franklin Park, IL 60131.

A virtual option is available for those that cannot participate in-person.

Wladyslaw will continue to live in our hearts.  

Interment will take place at St. Michael The Arch Angel Catholic Cemetery, 1185 W. Algonquin Road, Palatine, IL 60067, following the service at St. Gertrude Catholic Church.
